Nicholas Vielbig is a Programmer Analyst from the Chicago Area. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Informatics from the University of Iowa in May of 2013. Immediately following graduation, he began working as an IT Development Intern at RTC Industries (RTC), a mid-market company that specializes in retail displays, graphics and client-specific custom retail solutions. As a .NET developer, Nick supports web applications and console applications written both in C# and VB. He primarily stores and retrieves his data from an Oracle backend, something that he enjoys to mix up the typical Microsoft stack a little bit. After working as an intern for 6 months, he was hired full-time as an Associate Application Developer. Nick worked under that title for a little over a year, before recently being promoted to his current position of Programmer Analyst. Much of the work Nick does at RTC involves applications coined "Datacubes" which are rich web applications, designed to help RTC support the business needs of their clients. Some notable clients that RTC supports custom Datacubes for include: Walgreens, Proctor & Gamble and Wal-Mart. Datacube applications allow RTC to generally have as good -- if not better -- of an idea of what resides on every single cosmetic wall in each of the aforementioned clients' stores as the clients do themselves. Nick has also hooked up UPS and FedEx API's to provide clients with tracking for orders, as well as address validation and correction via UPS.
